I train year around! To me there is no offseason.

I have a big bucket that’s for sure! As of now it is my cape buffalo hunt. Hopefully at the end of 2016 I can check that one of the list!

Who introduced you to the outdoors and hunting?

A good friend of mine Scott Maddox introduced me to bow hunting when I was in college, I was hooked after I let my first arrow fly!

What drives you in your hunting endeavors?

Every time I hunt it’s a new experience! Nothing excites me more than the unknown! You never know what may step into you shooting lane during the rut or what unexpected trophy you may see at the water hole, or over the next ridge!

What is something you do different in your preparation for a hunt or even during a hunt?

I train year around! To me there is no offseason. Lucky for me I have plenty of game to hunt and keep my skills sharp through the year here in Texas. Weather I'm in the gym or outside pounding the target I am constantly thinking of how can I better my self and even my equipment to better the odds in my favor for my next hunt.

What else defines your or what else should we know about you that makes you who you are?

I make opportunities happen! Nothing is ever given to you and the best things never come easy. I have always worked hard for everything I have accomplished. When it comes to hunting I look at it the same way. When hunting you can either wait for it to happen or make it happen. It all starts in the preparation and during that one critical moment during the hunt when you have to make that split decision to make a move, draw your bow, or take the shot.  Are you will to make it happen … or miss out because you waited for it to happen? The choice is yours.

What makes you different than other hunters?

I would have to say I am different than other hunters based on my preparation for my hunts and the respect I have for each animal I harvest. From my equipment, to the time I invest practicing on a bag and 3D targets, to my physical training and nutrition, I treat each hunt as its own and specialize all the above to prepare me for all possible scenarios. Being a collegiate football player I look at each hunt as another opponent to take down!! So preparation is key.

I have a lot of respect for each animal I hunt and harvest. Especially their natural instinct ... to avoid me the PREDATOR. That’s something I know I will never be able to master but something that keeps me coming back.

If you had to hunt one animal for the rest of you life what would it be?

Mule Deer hands down! There is something about chasing a big mule deer with a wide rack I just cant get enough of!

I love Open Pattern Technology! If I’m in a tree in Texas, the mountains in Colorado or the bush in Africa I disappear! The clothing keeps me cool and warm depending on what piece I choose to wear and its QUIET!! What else can I ask for!
